Community Events and Mixers

From our Harvard Africa Mixer to our Africa Send-Off Mixer, CAS hosts annual events to bring the Harvard Africanist community together. CAS also serves as a venue for student-led social events.

Funding Opportunities

Undergraduate Funding and Internships

CAS offers funding and internship opportunities for Harvard college students. Browse our summer internship programs in Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, and beyond or apply for a CAS travel grant for your independent internship or research project in Africa.

Graduate Research Travel Grants

The Center for African Studies offers funding to Harvard graduate students traveling to Africa for thesis or dissertation research or for fieldwork connected to an academic project. Grant awards range from $1,000 to $3,000. Award amounts will be based on budgets, length of stay, and available funding for the award period.
