On May 31st, Harvard University will open its first cross-disciplinary research center in Sub-Saharan Africa, building a new platform for African and Africanist academic exchange.

in recognition of the opening of the Harvard University Center for African Studies' Africa Office, the Center for African Studies will host the 2nd Annual Hakeem and Myma Belo-Osagie Distinguished African Business and Entrepreneurship Lecture, which is open to the public. Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, shared his vision for a vibrant and entrepreneurial Africa with the Harvard community. He highlighted the untapped and under-recognized potential sub-Saharan African economies possess, despite the challenges they face.
