Samukelo is an Associate Actuary and a member of the London-based Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Currently, he is the Head of Product at FNB Wealth and Investments, where he looks after investment product development and management for FNB clients. He holds an honours degree in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Pretoria. He graduated with a master’s in financial mathematics from the University of Cape Town, which strengthen his understanding of financial markets, pricing of financial instruments, and financial modelling. In 2016, he graduated with a master’s in business administration from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.  

Samukelo is a trustee in the FirstRand Retirement Fund, where he serves on the Investment Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee. He is a board member of the Association of Savings and Investment South Africa (ASISA), where he serves on the Investment Committee. ASISA is a financial services industry body, which represents the interest of all investment managers and insurance companies in South Africa.

He serves as a non-executive director on the board of Uprise.Africa Fund, which is an equity crowd funding platform, where he sits on the Audit and Investment Committee. He was responsible for instituting the board of Boniswa Corporate Solutions in which he is serving as Chairperson. Boniswa Corporate Solutions is a turnkey digital services provider that supports large telecommunications organisations in South Africa.

Samukelo is passionate about financial and investment inclusion. He is constantly thinking of ways of enabling clients to access investments in a cost-effective manner. Working in a bank has allowed him to develop knowledge and experience retail distributions models and customer experience.
