Dr Riyad Domingo is a healthcare researcher, academic, and entrepreneur who graduated from the Institute of Infectious Diseases and Molecular Medicine at the University of Cape Town. He holds a PhD in Medical Biochemistry with a focus on Drug Discovery, Design, and Manufacturing.
Dr Domingo is the founder of an award-winning and internationally recognized medical device manufacturing company and has been featured on TEDx, brand eins, and is one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies for 2021 in South Africa. Currently, he leads a number of organisations implementing the digital manufacturing of affordable and sustainable medical products in Africa including in vitro diagnostic medical devices for COVID-19.
As an expert in healthcare innovation and the future of manufacturing in Africa, Dr Domingo has advised and partnered with numerous multinational companies, public-private partnerships, and development organisations in Africa, Kingdom of the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Dr Domingo is an advocate for sustainable future investment and support in pharmaceutical and biotechnology innovation in Africa and will share his views at Harvard Business School during his fellowship.
