Nthatisi Quella is the Office Director, for Harvard University Center for African Studies (CAS) Africa Office in Johannesburg, South Africa. She oversees the day-to-day operations and works closely with the CAS Faculty Director and Executive Director to implement the programmatic agenda of the Africa Office. Nthatisi first joined the Center in the Cambridge office in 2014, overseeing student programs and the Center’s outreach efforts. Upon her return to South Africa in 2018, she briefly worked at the Harvard Business School, Africa Research Center before re-joining CAS in May 2019.

 

Prior to Harvard, she consulted for the Boston University African Language Program in the African Studies Center. She started her career teaching in rural and urban Lesotho, following which she held management, governance and teacher development positions for public high schools in South Africa. Born and raised in Lesotho, Nthatisi holds a Bachelors Degree in Education from National University of Lesotho and a Masters in Curriculum Development from University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
