Emma Johnston is a lecture/senior clinical psychologist in the Department of Behavioural Medicine at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.  She is currently based at Town Hill Hospital, Pietermaritzburg where she has been involved in the provision of psychotherapeutic and assessment services.  She also conducts training with intern clinical psychologists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.  Prior to completing her masters in clinical psychology, she trained and worked as a speech and hearing therapist in a number of contexts.  Recently she completed her PhD which focused on multiculturalism, globalization and developing relevant clinical psychology service in South Africa.
