Chuma Qwalela Profile Picture

Chuma Qwalela is an organisational strategy and optimisation professional, with over 15 years’ experience in financial services, telecommunications, mining and ICT. She has held various senior and advisory positions from process re-engineering to strategy consulting, organisational transformation and change management.

She is currently responsible for implementation of Prudential Authority programmes at the South African Reserve Bank, as part of the Twin Peaks model of financial regulation aimed at transitioning from banking supervision, to supervision of all financial institutions; e.g. insurers, pension funds, stock exchanges and cooperatives.

Chuma holds a BCom (Honours) in Management from University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

She is passionate about future-proofing organisations in a highly VUCA world, by applying deep understanding of global economic and technological trends, and powerful strategies for self, team and organisational leadership.

Chuma is married to Vuyo Qwalela with four children and one grandchild. She loves her vibrant home life that keeps her on a constant sharp learning curve, where one day is never the same as the next.
