A one day workshop titled Development in the Data Economy will be hosted by the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society on 13 September 2019. The event will focus on creating fairer data markets, exploring new business and governance models to harness personal and non-personal data, and enabling competitive forms of governance to benefit the needs of local businesses and people in all countries regardless of their level of development.
The Program brings together firms from the South, policy makers from developing countries, especially Africa, international and regional agencies, experts, academics and practitioners to explore these and other related opportunities and challenges of digital transformation. The discussions and deliberations will focus on envisioning strategies and frameworks to enable positive digital transformation in a more comprehensive manner, with a view to enable not just economical, but also cultural, social, and personal wellbeing.
