Deborah Brautigam is the Bernard L. Schwartz Professor in International Political Economy and Professor of International Development and Comparative Politics, as well as Director of the International Development Program and the China-Africa Research Initiative at the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She is the author of The Dragon's Gift: The Real Story of China in Africa and Will Africa Feed China? Her new book focuses on the question of "land grabs", food security, and Chinese agribusiness investment in Africa.This talk is part of the Critical Issues Confronting China Seminar Series, co-sponsored by the Harvard University Asia Center, the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, and the Center for African Studies.
