Schwartz Professor in International Political Economy and Professor of International Development and Comparative Politics, as well as Director of the International Development Program and the China-Africa Research Initiative at the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She is the author of <em>The Dragon's Gift: The Real Story of China in Africa</em> and <em>Will Africa Feed China? </em>Her new book focuses on the question of "land grabs", food security, and Chinese agribusiness investment in Africa.This talk is part of the Critical Issues Confronting China Seminar Series, co-sponsored by the Harvard University Asia Center, the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, and the Center for African Studies.
