Promoting the Role of Women in Leadership in Ethiopia

Join the HKS Women and Public Policy Program for their seminar where former Ethiopian Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadesse Gebremedhin will discuss efforts to drive a gender equity agenda in Ethiopia's healthcare system, including reflecting on her own experiences in leadership. Women make up the majority of the health workforce in Ethiopia, but there continues to be a lack of representation of women in leadership roles in this sector. Advancing their leadership in healthcare can level the playing field for all—and women leaders specifically bring a unique lens and a set of diverse values to advance progress. Dr. Gebremedhin will discuss how promoting women's leadership in the Ethiopian healthcare system requires both dismantling barriers to entry and creating opportunities for women to flourish in the field.
