To celebrate our country’s 63rd year of independence, the theme of this year’s gala is “Echoes of the Past, Voices of the Future”. We will be paying homage to our roots and culture while looking forward to the bright future that we have as the next generation of Nigerians. With a focus on Afrofuturism, we are interested in exploring how the past can inform the future by teaching valuable lessons and creating a better tomorrow for the country and its people. Gala is an essential medium in telling Nigeria’s and Nigerians’ stories while impacting our engagement with the culture.
This year’s Independence Day Gala will be held in person and attendance from visiting school members is permitted. The Independence Day celebrations will be a three-day affair, starting with a virtual event on Thursday, September 28th, and ending with the Gala and Afterparty on Saturday, September 30th. The Gala is set to be a program full of impactful speeches, lively performances, and delicious food.
