Buna Break: AfriSoc x CAS Welcome Mixer

Buna Break September 8th

Date and Time

September 8, 2026
04:00PM - 09:00PM EDT

Location

Harvard Center for African Studies Lounge

CAS is excited to welcome students to the Center for our first Buna Break of the year on Tuesday, September 8, from 4-9pm ET. Buna Break was established in 2025 to provide a space for students to connect and recharge over African coffee. Each Buna Break starts with student support programming (i.e. career advising sessions, panels, etc.) followed by late-night study hours. To kick-off the year, CAS is collaborating with the Harvard African Student Society (AfriSoc). The evening will commence with our Student Welcome Mixer from 4-6pm. Join us for African coffee and snacks and learn more about CAS programming, funding, and internship opportunities as well as AfriSoc’s initiatives for the year. Discover resources for our student community and meet new friends who have a connection to or love of Africa. Late night study hours in the Lounge with coffee and cookies will continue throughout the evening until 9pm. Use our first late night study lounge as a quiet place to study, or work in small groups in one of our meeting spaces. We hope to see you there!
