The Boma of Africa festival is a series of insightful convenings to drive the African integration agenda through a strategic high-level engagement between the continental governance institutions, represented by the AU Commission, and the African private sector, represented by its strategic partner AfroChampions. This festival seeks to move beyond mere deliberations and delve deep into actions; actions that can inspire Africans in various fields such as science and technology, education and creative arts to hone our talents for our common good.
During an Assembly of the Africa Union session in 2019, the African Heads of State agreed to establish 7th July of every year to be celebrated as "Africa Integration Day". In support of this, several AU-partner institutions, including Afrochampions Initiative, are organising a number of innovative and impactful programmes to highlight this new African economic order, and these activities are what have been put together for this festival.
The four main segments of the Boma of Africa Festival are:
A. The Grand Debates (feat. Oppenheimer Faculty Director, Professor Emmanuel Akyeampong)
B. Creative Arts Challenge
C. Africa Futures Scenarios
D. Showcases
