Summer Programs

The Center for African Studies is deeply committed to being a valuable resource for Harvard’s students and faculty– across schools and disciplines – both on campus  and on the African Continent. Through immersive summer program offerings, CAS continues to expand opportunities for Harvard’s undergraduate students to gain cultural and professional experience, in both formal and informal settings.

Summer Program Opportunities

CAS-HBS Summer Program

This internship is a collaboration between the Center for African Studies and the Harvard Business School Global Initiative to fund one undergraduate to work at the HBS Africa Research Office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

INSPIRE brings talented underprivileged rising high school juniors and seniors between the ages of 15 and 18 years from African schools to Harvard’s two-week pre-college summer program.

The Jospong Internship program is a fully-funded program for Harvard University graduate students and Harvard and MIT undergraduates to work at the Jospong Group of Companies in Accra, Ghana.

The Lebone II Summer Program is an eight-week program that provides students the opportunity to live and work at the Lebone II – College of the Royal Bafokeng in Phokeng, South Africa.
