The Black in Design Conference is a biannual, student-organized design conference hosted by the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s African American Student Union in collaboration with the school’s administration. The Conference recognizes the contributions of the African diaspora to the design fields and promotes discourse around the agency of the design professions to address and dismantle the institutional barriers faced by Black communities. The fifth biannual conference, The Black Home, will occur in person on September 22 – 24, 2023 at Gund Hall, 48 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.
