DESCRIPTION:<p>	 </p><p>	<strong>Presenting</strong><em>: </em><em>Eskia Mphahlele, Chemchemi and Pan-African literary publics</em></p><p>	<img alt="Chris ouma photo" src="https://static.projects.iq.harvard.edu/files/styles/os_files_medium/public/african-studies/files/chris_ouma_photo.jpg?m=1598378355&amp;itok=rcC-FKpP"></p><p>	<strong>Christopher Ouma</strong> is a Senior Lecturer in the department of English at the University of Cape Town. He is the author of <em>Childhood in Contemporary Diasporic African Literature: Memories and Futures Past</em> (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020) and co-editor of <em>The Spoken Word Project: Stories Travelling through Africa</em> (Lektora,Verlag). Christopher is currently working on a second monograph that looks at how small magazines in midcentury Africa created platforms of Pan-African imagination that enabled the encounter between decolonization and anti-apartheid imagination within the polarizing context of the Cold War.
