Spiking Trends in Global Freedom

Mark Lagon (College '86), president of human rights watchdog group Freedom House, will present "Spiking Trends in Global Freedom." He will discuss recent developments expressed in the "Freedom in the World" survey, published annually by his organization. Particularly, his talk will focus on the recent declines in liberty many countries.Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Lagon was Chair for Global Politics and Security at Georgetown University’s Master of Science in Foreign Service Program, and Adjunct Senior Fellow for Human Rights at the Council on Foreign Relations from 2010-2014. He served the United States as Ambassador-at-Large, directing the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons from 2007-2009. Dr. Lagon graduated from Harvard College in 1986 with an A.B. in Government.This event is sponsored by Harvard Kennedy School.More information can be found here.
