Virtual Event - Details Below

Relations between the UK and African countries are at an important juncture, with the recent creation of the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) signalling comprehensive reform in the UK’s post-Brexit foreign and development policy. The coronavirus pandemic has also highlighted the importance of international cooperation at a time when the UK is reshaping its trade and investment relationships with African countries, who are also engaged in post-Cotonou ACP-EU negotiations and intra-African regional integration processes. The impact of these developments in realising the commitment to a mutually beneficial UK-Africa partnership, as articulated at the first UK-Africa Investment Summit held in January 2020, is yet to fully be seen.

At this virtual event, James Duddridge MP, the UK Minister for Africa, will discuss the trajectory of UK-Africa relations, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on these processes, and the priorities for engagement going forward.
