The MIT African Students' Association hosts a celebration with Afro-Beats, fashion, dancing, spoken word, and food. According to the event website, "Kijiji is Swahili for 'village'. It embodies the unified, rich, and wonderful African culture. Anyone who passes through a village doesn’t ask for food or for water. Once he stops, the people give him food and attend him." This event is open to the general public.
