African Studies Workshop Featuring Zebulon Dingley

Zebulon Dingley is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Departments of Anthropology and History at the University of Chicago. He is currently an Exchange Scholar with the Department of Anthropology at Harvard University and Teaching Fellow in the Department of African and African American Studies. He will present "Fisi ra Kaya: 'Elders' in South Coast Sorcery and Sacrifice." Jo Helle-Valle, Professor at the University of Oslo, will be the discussant.A week in advance, the presenter’s paper will be circulated through the Harvard African Studies Workshop listserv. It is assumed that everyone has read the paper before the workshop. After presentation and commentary, Workshop attendees are invited to engage in critique and discussion, under the moderation of the Workshop Chairs.
