African Studies Workshop Featuring Daniel Magaziner

Dan Magaziner  a Professor of History at Yale University. He is a historian of 20th century Africa. He received his PhD in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and taught at Cornell University before coming to Yale in 2011. He will present Available Light: Intimacy and Media, Apartheid and AfterDiscussant: Panashe Chigumadzi (Harvard University).

A week in advance, the presenter’s paper will be circulated through the Harvard African Studies Workshop listserv. It is assumed that everyone has read the paper before the workshop.  After presentation and commentary, Workshop attendees are invited to engage in critique and discussion, under the moderation of the Workshop Chairs.
