Abidemi Babalola is 2016-2017 McMillan-Stewart Fellow at the W.E.B Du Bois Institute, Hutchins Center for African &amp; African American Research, Harvard University. He will present “Centering Africa in the global history of technological innovation and change: The Pre-colonial glass production in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.” Matthew Liebmann, Associate Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard University, will be the discussant.

A week in advance, the presenter’s paper will be circulated through the [Harvard African Studies Workshop listserv](https://lists.fas.harvard.edu/mailman/listinfo/africanstudiesworkshop-list). It is assumed that everyone has read the paper before the workshop. After presentation and commentary, Workshop attendees are invited to engage in critique and discussion, under the moderation of the Workshop Chairs.
