November 18th - Meeting the Challenges of Higher Education in Africa

Institutions of higher education in Africa have acknowledged even prior to the pandemic that increased access to virtual learning is necessary to bring down costs and expand access to education. COVID-19 accelerated that need as institutions were forced to go digital, but concerns have come up around access to data and personal devices. Likewise, universities must grapple with how to create engaging digital content, project- and team-based learning, and learning assessments in a virtual environment. The panel will discuss the challenges and opportunities for universities in Africa to move digital and what role the private sector and government have in helping to meet these challenges.
