The theme of this year's symposium is "Global Health and Aging." Population aging around the world presents an unprecedented set of challenges. One key issue is we are seeing, along with longer life spans, a compression of morbidity and a delay in the onset of chronic disease, frailty, and disability.  The implications of population aging for human welfare, economic progress, and health care, all turn on this central question: is the aging we are seeing healthy aging?

The Symposium is the highlight of Global Health Week. Please join the Department of Global Health and Population in a variety of events including the featured symposium, student-led workshops, engaging faculty seminars and debates, as well multi-school, cross-departmental activities across Harvard's Longwood and Cambridge campuses.

The symposium is followed by a Student Poster Session and Reception. This event is free and open to the public. Please register here.

Organizer(s): The Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard Chan School
