The Harvard Crimson Features Center for African Studies

The Harvard Crimson featured the Center for African Studies (CAS) in its article "Harvard Moves to Open Three New Offices Abroad." The article, by Crimson writer Meg Bernhard, cites our planned office in Cape Town, South Africa. This office will serve as a nexus for Africa-related research, internship and volunteer projects, innovation, and intellectual debate, and will likely be officially launched by the beginning of 2016. In an interview with The Harvard Crimson, CAS Director Caroline Elkins, Professor of History and of African and African American Studies, noted that "Under President Faust, Harvard has become more intentionally global." The new office in Cape Town will be joined by one in Mumbai, India and another in Beijing, China.
