The Akilah Institute for Women, the only women's college in Rwanda, is thrilled to partner with award-winning filmmaker, Laura Waters Hinson, for the release of her newest film, Mama Rwanda. The film follows two Rwandan women and highlights the roles of education and access to capital in empowering women to overcome poverty through entrepreneurship. You can view the trailer here.Akilah is hosting a series of film premieres this fall to raise funds and celebrate female leaders and entrepreneurs at Akilah and in East Africa. The Boston premiere is on Thursday, October 27 at the Pickman Concert Hall at the Longy School of Music. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring the filmmaker, Akilah Institute leadership, and special guests. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.
