A squadron of native soldiers from French colonial Africa fights to liberate France from Nazi occupation during World War II. These patriots, hoping to find respect and equality from the colonial government, instead find themselves repaid with undiluted racism. Senegalese filmmaker Ousmane Sembene’s irreverent war, semi-autobiographical drama stars Sidiki Bakaba and Hamed Camara.
Food and drink will be served. Please RSVP with Alma Medina (almamedina@fas.harvard.edu).
