Effective Storytelling: Igniting Global Health Change

Date:

Tuesday, November 1, 2016, 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Location:

Fong Auditorium, Boylston Hall 110, Harvard Yard

Effective Storytelling: Igniting Global Health Change, centers on the power of narrative storytelling for global health change. The event will showcase a number of speakers with diverse backgrounds, including Professor Jay Winsten of the Harvard Chan School of Public Health, an expert in behavior change communication and creating awareness-building campaigns; Lisa Goldman-Van Nostrand, a global health advocate experienced in malaria and HIV/AIDS efforts; three talented documentarians/filmakers and artists who have successfully crafted multimedia efforts to inspire change through film, video, and music.

Two of the panelists will also speak about Kids Against Malaria, a project that uses music and film to raise awareness about malaria. The project was inspired by a song written with students at the CIAMO School of Art & Music in Benin and performed with Grammy-award winning musician and humanitarian Angélique Kidjo.
