African Studies Workshop featuring Shanti Parikh

Shanti Parikh is an Associate Professor of Sociocultural Anthropology and African and African‐ American Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Parikh will present "Queer Visibility: The Anti‐Homosexuality Bill, Gay Contagion, and the Incitement to Discourse in Uganda.” George Paul Meiu, Assistant Professor in the Department of African and African American Studies and the Department of Anthropology at Harvard University, will serve as moderator for the discussion.

A week in advance, the presenter’s paper will be circulated through the Harvard African Studies Workshop listserv. It is assumed that everyone has read the paper before the workshop. After presentation and commentary, Workshop attendees are invited to engage in critique and discussion, under the moderation of the Workshop Chair.
