African Studies Workshop featuring Sarah Nuttall

Sarah Nuttall is a Professor of Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, the Director of the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research, and current Fellow at the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research. Nuttall will be presenting “Outside the Human? Literary and cultural Form in the age of the Anthropocene – perspectives from Africa.”The discussant will be B Jeyifo, Professor of African and African American Studies and of Comparative Literature at Harvard University.A week in advance, the presenter’s paper will be circulated through the Harvard African Studies Workshop listserv. It is assumed that everyone has read the paper before the workshop. After presentation and commentary, Workshop attendees are invited to engage in critique and discussion, under the moderation of the Workshop Chairs.
