African Studies Workshop featuring Andrew Ivaska

Andrew Ivaska is an Associate Professor of History at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. He will present "Transnational Leftwing Activism in 1960s Dar es Salaam : "Comrade Life" in a Movement Hub." The discussant is Sharon Kivenko, graduate student in Department of Anthropology at Harvard University.

A week in advance, the presenter’s paper will be circulated through the Harvard African Studies Workshop listserv. It is assumed that everyone has read the paper before the workshop. After presentation and commentary, Workshop attendees are invited to engage in critique and discussion, under the moderation of the Workshop Chair.
